How do I cancel my policy?

If you have a Crystal Studies, Magellan, or Special WHP Package policy:

What to do if your trip is cancelled or changed.

If your trip is cancelled, your premium will be refunded, excluding administration fees, as long as we have received notice of this in writing before the start date of the policy and the original membership certificate and any insurance cards which had been issued have been returned.

You must provide proof that your trip has been cancelled.

If you decide to cut short your stay and return permanently to your country of nationality, you should send us a registered letter with proof of receipt enclosing documentary evidence of your return home (e.g. receipt for payment of electricity, gas or telephone bill). If you paid your premium in full, we will make a pro-rata refund of any remaining premium. If you are paying in monthly instalments, we will amend the end date of your policy.

If you have a Ulysse policy:

You cannot cancel your policy.

If you have a Welcome Cover or Visit'Assur policy:

What to do if your visa application is delayed or rejected.

If you have difficulty obtaining a visa, you can change the effective date, suspend or cancel your policy.

  • To change the effective date: you must send us, before your policy starts, a request in writing accompanied by the policyholder certificate which was issued to you, detailing the new dates of cover.
  • To suspend the policy: send us a written request, before your policy starts, enclosing the policyholder certificate which was issued to you. Suspending the policy allows you to retain your entitlement to cover under the policy for a maximum of 6 months from the date the policy was issued.
  • To cancel the policy before the effective date: you should make your request in writing (by recorded delivery) before your policy starts, enclosing your policyholder certificate.
  • To cancel the policy after the effective date due to the rejection of your visa application: you should make your request in writing (by recorded delivery) before your policy starts, enclosing your policyholder certificate and proof that your visa application was unsuccessful.

For all cancellations (before or after the Effective date), there is a charge of €35.

If you have one of the following policies: Ambassade, ​​Rubelles + Euro Cover +, APRIL Social Security top-up for expatriates in France:

You can cancel your policy at the annual renewal date of 31/12, by registered letter with at least two months’ notice (that is, sent no later than 31/10). You may also cancel individual components of your policy.

You may cancel your policy during the course of the year if you return definitively to your country of nationality and can provide documentary evidence of this.
