Inpatient claims or claims likely to exceed,
£2,500/$4,250/€3,500 (Long-Term and Group Plans)
or £1,000/$1,700/€1,400 (Short-Term and Student Plans).

We understand that it can be quite a traumatic time when admitted to a hospital to undergo treatment which is why we have experienced support on hand to guide you through every step of the way.

Before being admitted as an inpatient in hospital, or where it is considered likely that treatment costs will exceed the limits outlined in your policy guide, pre-authorisation must be obtained from the Assistance Company, CEGA.

Pre-authorisation is vital as failure to contact the assistance company prior to incurring medical costs can result in you being liable for a percentage of each claim.

The assistance company will request information from you therefore its helpful to have the following available: 

  • Full name, date of birth, nationality and current address.
  • Certificate Number and policy expiry date.
  • Diagnosed medical condition and treatment required.
  • Hospital name and contact details.
  • Treating Doctor's name contact details.

Once the above information is provided, CEGA will review all the details and firstly ensure that the treatment required is covered under your chosen insurance solution. Once confirmed rest assured that all arrangements will be taken care of on your behalf.

The assistance company will contact the chosen medical facility and ensure that the treating doctor is on hand to confirm the required treatment and place a guarantee of payment with the facility so all costs are taken care of. 

CEGA are there to support you through every step of your treatment so feel free to contact your case manager whenever you need them. Family members can also be added to your case if you want them to be kept up to speed with any developments.
