APRIL Travel Protection launches 'APRIL choice' on squaremouth, provides fully customizable options for travelers’ unique needs

After bursting on the scene with a slew of supplier agreements, the newly launched U.S. division of global insurance giant APRIL Travel Protection (https://www.AprilTravelProtection.com) is now available on Squaremouth (https://www.SquareMouth.com), America’s fastest growing travel insurance comparison site.  The development paves the way for the launch of APRIL Choice – a brand new, fully-customizable plan designed exclusively for the aggregator market which allows travelers to modify their policy by selecting upgrades and triggers that apply to their unique situation.

Consumers can also select from several pre-packaged policies including APRIL’s Economy, VIP, Trip Cancellation, Multi-Trip Universal and Multi-Trip Elite plans.

            Designed specifically for the aggregator market, APRIL Choice gives consumers the flexibility of determining exactly how much coverage they need and what types of triggers will activate their policy. “This is the ultimate solution for people with specific needs or concerns who require a semi-comprehensive policy, but do not want to pay for all the upgraded features of our catch-all VIP plan,” noted Schreier.

            Among the most significant offerings in APRIL Choice, travelers can now extend their coverage to all accompanying children 18 and under for an additional 5% of the adult policy cost.

            Highly recommended for policyholders sharing their coverage with family members, a $500K upgrade will protect up to $500,000 for Accident/Sickness Medical and Emergency Medical Evacuation/Repatriation (increased from $50,000 and $250,000, respectively) for only $23, while coverage for Baggage and Personal Effects can be increased from $500 to $2,000 for an additional $9.

Travelers can add specific triggers for Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption that will kick-in in the event of one or more specific scenarios.  For an additional 2% of their premium, policyholders will be protected if they need to cancel their trip due to mechanical breakdown (of plane, ship, bus, etc.), normal pregnancy, family member childbirth or the bankruptcy/default of their travel supplier.

These triggers are in addition to sickness or injury, weather, mandatory evacuation, natural or man-made disaster, strike, employment termination, jury duty/subpoena, felonious assault, natural disaster at residence, traffic accident, military duty, hijack/quarantine, terrorist attack and host death, which are automatically included.

Upgrades to Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption include Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR), which costs an additional 45% of one’s base policy (below industry standard), as well as Cancel for Work Reasons, which is only an additional 25% of the base policy cost. Both pay out above the industry standard at up to 75% of the total trip cost.
